National palliative care projects providing education
The Australian Government funds a range of national palliative care initiatives and programs primarily focused on education, training, quality improvement and advance care planning. These modules, webinars, workshops, and learning resources support the health and aged care workforces to provide quality palliative care. They are listed below.

caring@home
caring@home supports people to be cared for and to die at home if that is their choice. The caring@home education modules for registered nurses and Aboriginal health workers support community-based services to improve symptom control by integrating carers into the multidisciplinary team and supporting them to help manage breakthrough symptoms safely using subcutaneous medicines.
End of Life Directions for Aged Care (ELDAC)
ELDAC provides information, guidance, and resources to health professionals and aged care workers to support palliative care and advance care planning to improve the care of older Australians. Toolkits and learning videos help the aged care workforce build their knowledge and confidence in providing end-of-life care.
End-of-Life Essentials (EOLE)
End-of-Life Essentials provides online education for health professionals on care at the end of life in acute hospitals. The modules develop knowledge and skills to recognise end-of-life issues, to enhance communication strategies, and to gain confidence in caring for patients and their families in acute hospitals at the end of life.

Indigenous Program of Experience in the Palliative Approach (IPEPA)
IPEPA embeds Australian Indigenous knowledges across all PEPA resources and facilitates two-way learning dedicated to (1) building capacity in the mainstream and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce to deliver culturally responsive palliative care and (2) developing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities’ knowledge of palliative care, their rights, and local services.

Program of Experience in the Palliative Approach (PEPA)
PEPA empowers health professionals to deliver quality end-of-life care. PEPA provides placements in palliative care services for practicing health professionals and palliative approach workshops. Components of this program focus on the care of older people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Open-access online learning modules are also available with the option to select a set of modules specific to your professional group or work role.
