A population approach to palliative care
Population health looks at the social, environmental and behavioural determinants of health and health service delivery in Australia. These approaches identify groups that may have differential access to resources and services, or who may have specific needs in ensuring equitable care. These groups include:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
- Adolescents and Young Adults
- Homelessness
- Intellectually Disabled
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex
- Living Alone
- Mental Illness
- Multicultural
- Older people
- Paediatrics
- People with HIV/AIDS
- Prisoners
- Refugees and Asylum Seekers
- Rural and Remote.
